Faith Like A Child

Faith Like A Child

The future generation of new ideas comes from people with faith like a child.

One of the greatest gifts that children have is the gift of a fantastic imagination. Children don’t worry about obstacles; they don’t worry about the power. All they know is that there are people out there who love them, that will hear their call, and quite frankly, they are not sophisticated enough to know what things can get in the way. That kind of faith gets them closer to the end result.

For those of you who have children, you will often hear them ask for a gift for their birthday, or a gift for Christmas. Usually those requests are very specific; what gift by what date. Sometimes children declare their future careers; I want to grow up and be a doctor. Just by pronouncing it, others will share. For example, the parents say, “My daughter wants to be a doctor”, and the word gets out. When the child realizes that there is recognition for that they try even harder or mention it more.

Having faith like a child is also about recognizing the power that is already there. You just need to let people know what it is you want to do so you can get nourishment, and use that power for the idea. Keep in mind that at no point does the child worry about the problems or obstacles that might stand in their way. Children don’t ask their parents what their taxable income is or if they have enough money. Children just say what they want.

The same is true for vision. Problems and obstacles are always there. The person with the clear vision, the one who looks at the clear result without thinking about the obstacles first, has a much better chance because they will approach it with a stronger more confident attitude. The stronger, confident attitude attracts energy of other helpful people who want to play a role in achieving the vision.

One of my favorite quotes by Albert Einstein is, “Imagination is more powerful than knowledge.” He went on to say that if you want intelligent children to read them fairy tales, and if you want extremely intelligent children, then read them even more fairy tales. The point is to always build up their imagination. In imagination, nothing is impossible. All things are attainable in the imaginative process.

Imagination has manifested amazing tools throughout human history. Many of those were only invented over the last 50 years. Things that seem so accessible today were non-existent only 60 years ago, but here we are doing all these things that we couldn’t do before. What do you think will happen 60 years from now? Will there be more creation, more development of these fantastic ideas. Will they come from the people who feel they have obstacles in the way or the people who have faith like a child and a greater imagination?

Give Them The Power

When I share vision with others I often talk about giving the power to others. People often ask me why. The truth is they already have power. When you start to share your goals and ideas and let them share their thoughts, ideas , and energy, you give them power. Often times you have to keep them on course and refocus the task at hand, but if it is in tandem with your vision then they are an invaluable resource. Having more power in a unit certainly makes the unit more powerful. Most people who try to be controlling or to tight fisted will find that they will exhaust themselves quickly and alienate many sources of power that could have been a source of extra energy.

How do you transfer energy everywhere? One person at a time.

You will often hear me refer to sharing as one of the largest components of vision. Sharing doesn’t just involve telling people your vision, you also have to transfer the energy. This can be a difficult concept if you have never tried it. The truth is that if you are passionate about your vision, it is easier than you think.

Transferring energy throughout the world does not happen overnight. Think of it like a flood. Normally it takes a while for it to seep through and flood everything. The same is true when you are trying to spread energy.

Transfer the energy one person at a time.

First you start with one source, then two. Before you know it, your two sources are transferring it to two more, and you are still initiating new sources. Eventually you flood the whole planet.

Like a tree spreading its roots. The root is syndicating its risk while strengthening the stability of its intention, which is to remain for a long time and overcome every obstacle. Every little root that is newly born takes time to strengthen the entire tree. So does the transfer of your energy. That is why you have to transfer it perpetually. Plant seeds everywhere.

For example, if you are trying to raise money for a charity it wouldn’t work that well if you were doing all the fundraising yourself, would it? It would be better to find other volunteers who can participate in the fundraising, and have them also find other volunteers.

That is the key!

How do you know if it is working?

You should start to see a measurable result. Energy transfer, like vision, should have an intention and measurable time frames.

The catch.

Not everybody is willing to take part in the pathway to success. If they aren’t, you just say my favorite four letter word: NEXT! Eventually, if you pursue it, you find enough to participate and will transfer energy on your behalf. I have seen it many times, and it is a beautiful thing, because you start to see the results multiply.

I will leave you with this: There is so much energy and resources available to you that you can’t handle all the business and new activity. If you want a piece of it, then be fearless and start transferring energy everywhere.

Leadership is an important role in any project, organization or vision. One thing is for sure, leaders are made not born. Being a leader means constantly learning and remaining optimistic in the ability to arrange energy in a strategic way to get more out of tomorrow than you got out of today. Always striving to improve the process and expand to higher levels. It is when you can transfer that energy and inspire others that you are truly a great leader.

Perpetuate Energy

Perpetuating energy simply means acting as a consistent beacon for your vision. Perpetuating energy is fun. It is an incredible gift and resource. You can and should always be broadcasting and getting others connected to your vision. The problem is many people will become complacent and think that have share or perpetuated enough. I will share this; I would rather be perpetuating energy then just letting it sit there.

It is like having a thousand outlets in your home with a thousand lights and you never plug them in. You never turn on the light. Things are brighter and more active when you do. So keep perpetuating the energy of your vision.

Plant Seeds of Your Vision

There is great importance in sharing your vision. Sometimes when you are trying to ignite another person toward your vision, it does not happen spontaneously. It’s important not to get discouraged and know the value of planting seeds. When you express a few ideas like various types of incentives, assistance, or resources these will settle in a person’s mind. At first, they may not agree with you and may not want to participate and be energy supporters, but later they contact you to ask more questions about the seeds that you originally planted.
