Faith Like A Child

Faith Like A Child

The future generation of new ideas comes from people with faith like a child.

One of the greatest gifts that children have is the gift of a fantastic imagination. Children don’t worry about obstacles; they don’t worry about the power. All they know is that there are people out there who love them, that will hear their call, and quite frankly, they are not sophisticated enough to know what things can get in the way. That kind of faith gets them closer to the end result.

For those of you who have children, you will often hear them ask for a gift for their birthday, or a gift for Christmas. Usually those requests are very specific; what gift by what date. Sometimes children declare their future careers; I want to grow up and be a doctor. Just by pronouncing it, others will share. For example, the parents say, “My daughter wants to be a doctor”, and the word gets out. When the child realizes that there is recognition for that they try even harder or mention it more.

Having faith like a child is also about recognizing the power that is already there. You just need to let people know what it is you want to do so you can get nourishment, and use that power for the idea. Keep in mind that at no point does the child worry about the problems or obstacles that might stand in their way. Children don’t ask their parents what their taxable income is or if they have enough money. Children just say what they want.

The same is true for vision. Problems and obstacles are always there. The person with the clear vision, the one who looks at the clear result without thinking about the obstacles first, has a much better chance because they will approach it with a stronger more confident attitude. The stronger, confident attitude attracts energy of other helpful people who want to play a role in achieving the vision.

One of my favorite quotes by Albert Einstein is, “Imagination is more powerful than knowledge.” He went on to say that if you want intelligent children to read them fairy tales, and if you want extremely intelligent children, then read them even more fairy tales. The point is to always build up their imagination. In imagination, nothing is impossible. All things are attainable in the imaginative process.

Imagination has manifested amazing tools throughout human history. Many of those were only invented over the last 50 years. Things that seem so accessible today were non-existent only 60 years ago, but here we are doing all these things that we couldn’t do before. What do you think will happen 60 years from now? Will there be more creation, more development of these fantastic ideas. Will they come from the people who feel they have obstacles in the way or the people who have faith like a child and a greater imagination?

The plain simple truth about people who have great thoughts is that there is absolutely no accountability. There is no one saying- You are late, you need to fix this, you need to get back on track. If the thoughts just stay in your head ultimately you remain unaccountable and unfruitful. When you write and share your vision people will ask you about it and you want to be able to tell them that you have made some progress. When you share your progress you are able to garner other energy versus no one knows what you’re thinking, no one knows how to measure it, and no one knows the timeline.

That is why a written vision makes sense. It is the same reason people love sports in America because there is a winner and loser and statistics for every game. If you throw out the stats and the scorecard, it takes away the accountability, the measurement, and ultimately the fans.

Connection Chain

The connection chain is huge benefit of vision. Having a written vision such as...

Obtain 5 new clients by next week

Generate $100,000 in sales by next year

The ability for you to demonstrate your vision at a meeting, a casual gathering or one on one adds to your connection chain, which is made up of people who have ideas or who can share some kind of energy that will help your vision come to be. Without being able to share that in a moment's notice you lose the possibility of transferring your energy. This connection chain is a live link that will constantly grow as long as you keep sharing your vision.

How do you transfer energy everywhere? One person at a time.

You will often hear me refer to sharing as one of the largest components of vision. Sharing doesn’t just involve telling people your vision, you also have to transfer the energy. This can be a difficult concept if you have never tried it. The truth is that if you are passionate about your vision, it is easier than you think.

Transferring energy throughout the world does not happen overnight. Think of it like a flood. Normally it takes a while for it to seep through and flood everything. The same is true when you are trying to spread energy.

Transfer the energy one person at a time.

First you start with one source, then two. Before you know it, your two sources are transferring it to two more, and you are still initiating new sources. Eventually you flood the whole planet.

Like a tree spreading its roots. The root is syndicating its risk while strengthening the stability of its intention, which is to remain for a long time and overcome every obstacle. Every little root that is newly born takes time to strengthen the entire tree. So does the transfer of your energy. That is why you have to transfer it perpetually. Plant seeds everywhere.

For example, if you are trying to raise money for a charity it wouldn’t work that well if you were doing all the fundraising yourself, would it? It would be better to find other volunteers who can participate in the fundraising, and have them also find other volunteers.

That is the key!

How do you know if it is working?

You should start to see a measurable result. Energy transfer, like vision, should have an intention and measurable time frames.

The catch.

Not everybody is willing to take part in the pathway to success. If they aren’t, you just say my favorite four letter word: NEXT! Eventually, if you pursue it, you find enough to participate and will transfer energy on your behalf. I have seen it many times, and it is a beautiful thing, because you start to see the results multiply.

I will leave you with this: There is so much energy and resources available to you that you can’t handle all the business and new activity. If you want a piece of it, then be fearless and start transferring energy everywhere.

How to Inspire Your Visionary Team

One of the greatest things that you can do when you assemble a team is to ask questions and comment highly on their input. It’s like watering a plant; it nurtures their mind which probably hasn’t been nurtured with water in that way for a while. You will be surprised at the creativity and input you receive from others. Keep in mind that the greatest creativity is almost never the initial point. Like a plant, the greatest leaf is not necessarily the first leaf. The greatest ideas and visions that you’ve nurtured in other people come to be in some period of time when you continue to nurture them. It’s good to do on a regular basis to keep it consistent.

Recognition is another valuable thing you can do when you are trying to inspire your team. Allowing people to give their ideas and give them the recognition that their idea is going to be used is a great was to illuminate your team. You motivate them by saying--What do you think? How do you feel? What end result you think we should have? Let them have the role in the end of the vision. And more importantly, train them to be visionary.

Know Your Resources

Most people think that the only resources they have access to are the ones they can quickly access. The fact is that there are resources all around that they have never used or even thought of. Remember, you don’t have to worry about power of these resources, you just have to go in touch or stimulate them and that is done by sharing your vision, sharing your commentary, sharing your foresighted. You just never know, the person you are sharing with may have experience or ideas to help your vision. The power those resources can generate is more than abundant for what you will ever need to accomplish your vision. You just have to go out there and make contact.

For example: Years ago I was sharing my vision I decided to go speak to one of the highest ranking CEO’s in the country. The result of my persistence was they finally allowed me to speak to him but only for 15 minutes. Their expectation was that I was going to ask them for money or sponsorship of for some kind of support. To his surprise all I asked was how he handled some very big situations in a brave fashion with confidence and how would they preceded in the future. He reveled in sharing their victories, even in sharing their difficulties. The bottom line is that because of the sharing that 15 minutes lasted almost an hour and in the end that CEO gave me tickets to a national sporting event every year as a gift.
