Faith Like A Child

Faith Like A Child

The future generation of new ideas comes from people with faith like a child.

One of the greatest gifts that children have is the gift of a fantastic imagination. Children don’t worry about obstacles; they don’t worry about the power. All they know is that there are people out there who love them, that will hear their call, and quite frankly, they are not sophisticated enough to know what things can get in the way. That kind of faith gets them closer to the end result.

For those of you who have children, you will often hear them ask for a gift for their birthday, or a gift for Christmas. Usually those requests are very specific; what gift by what date. Sometimes children declare their future careers; I want to grow up and be a doctor. Just by pronouncing it, others will share. For example, the parents say, “My daughter wants to be a doctor”, and the word gets out. When the child realizes that there is recognition for that they try even harder or mention it more.

Having faith like a child is also about recognizing the power that is already there. You just need to let people know what it is you want to do so you can get nourishment, and use that power for the idea. Keep in mind that at no point does the child worry about the problems or obstacles that might stand in their way. Children don’t ask their parents what their taxable income is or if they have enough money. Children just say what they want.

The same is true for vision. Problems and obstacles are always there. The person with the clear vision, the one who looks at the clear result without thinking about the obstacles first, has a much better chance because they will approach it with a stronger more confident attitude. The stronger, confident attitude attracts energy of other helpful people who want to play a role in achieving the vision.

One of my favorite quotes by Albert Einstein is, “Imagination is more powerful than knowledge.” He went on to say that if you want intelligent children to read them fairy tales, and if you want extremely intelligent children, then read them even more fairy tales. The point is to always build up their imagination. In imagination, nothing is impossible. All things are attainable in the imaginative process.

Imagination has manifested amazing tools throughout human history. Many of those were only invented over the last 50 years. Things that seem so accessible today were non-existent only 60 years ago, but here we are doing all these things that we couldn’t do before. What do you think will happen 60 years from now? Will there be more creation, more development of these fantastic ideas. Will they come from the people who feel they have obstacles in the way or the people who have faith like a child and a greater imagination?

A Vision Holdup

There are many reason that people do not take the time to write and share their vision. One of the biggest reasons is that too many thoughts dominate a person’s day. I think the average person has about 10,000 thoughts a day. Trying to isolate that down into a few key points seems contrary to the natural way that we think. Like I have said before, when you let too many unfocused items overtake your day, your day seizes you instead of you taking an active role and winning the day. It is really fantastic once you do create a focal point, because more of your thoughts, and even more of your unseen actions are directed toward your definable intention making it more powerful and likely to occur.

A Visionary Testimonial

Years ago I met a pastor who wanted to build a church. The problem was he didn’t have a penny to build it with. So he found some land that was marked for sale. When he went over to look at it he explained to the owner that he wanted to build a church there. Later on he had a vision; of course he shared the vision of what the church would look like and how many people it could hold. I remember he stuck his hand in the ground he prayed, “Lord, this is where I want to build my church”.

The landowner agreed to make a deal with him that over time he could make payments. Later on after the deal was signed they discovered two things happened: A local concrete company paid and donated over a $100,000 for the sand on the land, and also contributed to build in the foundation of this church which now seats over 2000. That is how amazing vision is.

Concentrate on Making Contact

I know there are a lot of sports fans out there. I am one of them. I was watching baseball player Josh Hamilton who hit four home runs in a game. An achievement only 16 people have done this in the history of baseball. Josh Hamilton had a tough life, but he converted over to having a more stable and spiritual life. This year he is leading the major leagues in every category: RBIs, home runs, and batting averages. After he hit the four home runs, ESPN interviewed him and asked what he did differently and what changed his year. I listened intently as he answered, talking about baseball of course, “I don’t worry about the power. I just concentrate on making contact.” Wow! Sure he was talking about the game, but that’s the story of vision, that’s the story of our life. Don’t worry about the power, just concentrate in making a contact and your vision will come to be.

Connection Chain

The connection chain is huge benefit of vision. Having a written vision such as...

Obtain 5 new clients by next week

Generate $100,000 in sales by next year

The ability for you to demonstrate your vision at a meeting, a casual gathering or one on one adds to your connection chain, which is made up of people who have ideas or who can share some kind of energy that will help your vision come to be. Without being able to share that in a moment's notice you lose the possibility of transferring your energy. This connection chain is a live link that will constantly grow as long as you keep sharing your vision.

Being efficient is a major part of Strategic Visionary Planning. The best way to be efficient is to prepare for your next hour. I often equate efficiencies to time. Time is the most important asset we have as humans. The more efficient you are during every hour the more you extract out of that time; the more gratified you are, the better the results, the more items you harvest , the more you are part of a fantastic life. Be efficient.
